**** Excerpt from Chapter One****
She didn't recognize the tall, fair-haired man in the immaculate white suit that stood on her doorstep. Meeting his eyes quizzically, she didn't say anything, but waited for him to introduce himself. He was probably a salesman. But this late in the day? And on Sunday?
"My name is Jack," he said, "and I am an angel."
Her eyes widened and her heart began to race. Her first impulse was to shut the door immediately, and she started to do just that, until she noticed what he was carrying. It was a child's carrier seat, inside of which was a sleeping baby. Her startled gaze moved from the child, again to the stranger.
"The baby's name is Carli Lynn and she is an orphan. She will be a year old on March 2nd. I need you to care for her."
Lora's eyes widened even more. Surely, she hadn't heard him right. "Why are you doing this?" she asked, when she could finally speak. "Do you think it's some kind of funny joke or something? Well, I don't!"
The baby opened her eyes and started to cry.
Lora stooped down, taking her tiny fingers into her own. "Oh, don't cry! None of this is your fault, darling!" She watched the clear brown eyes, glistening with tears, begin to glow with a sudden trust. The rosy lips slowly turned from a frown to a smile. "Oh, how beautiful you are!" Unable to stop herself, Lora unfastened the safety belts and lifted the little girl out of the seat, then snuggled her lovingly and gently in her arms. Holding her close, she stood to her feet and turned again to face the man who had brought her there.
The man who called himself Jack, who said he was an angel, was gone.
COMMENTS ON THIS BOOK

I didn't figure it would take long to finish this book once I started. It surely was fascinating. You never cease to amaze me!
I never read, but I couldn't put this book down! This is a REALLY good book and I can't wait for the next one!
This was so good, I didn't want to put it down. Although Walking with an Angel was great, this book surely surpasses it by far. The plot, the storyline, everything about it was spell binding and hard to quit reading. Who says Christian fiction has to be dull? What a witness you have put forth in this book. I pray that tons of people will get the opportunity to read this book!
I can't tell you what a wonderful book this is! Thank you for the inspiration I get from all your Christian books. They touch my heart, so imagine what they must do for others.
LOVED this book! Couldn't put it down.
Your books are such an inspiration to me. Thank you so much and KEEP WRITING. I'm saving all your books for my daughters.
This is one of the most inspirational novels I have ever read. The 2nd book with Jack the angel, helping people to find their need for God in their lives after losing their faith due to tragedies. The 1st was Walking with an Angel. If you have small children or grandchildren, try Angels Beside the Children by this author. If you're a science fiction fan, try In the Midst of Tomorrow, which is an inspirational sci-fi wonder! I could not put any of them down until I finished them. And watch for her upcoming 3rd novel with Jack the angel coming soon. I know I can't wait!
